This pen is raw metal copper at its base.  Patina is forced and a temporary seal is applied to slow patina development through its short shelf-life and shipment to buyer.  Eventually the seal will wear and oxidation will continue to form patina on the pen, which is a primary reason buyer's enjoy raw metal copper.

We include this information here so buyer's are able to make informed choices prior to ordering.

We also enclose an information card in pen box explaining oxidation and patina so buyer understands the care required post-purchase.

It is the buyer's responsibility to manage expectations out-of-box to understand this natural process and elect to care for the pen as instructed.

We do not replace "wrong color" or "too much patina out of box" as issues. This is not a defect or damage. It is normal for an all-natural metal copper pen.
